Precocious girl performs antics to prevent her boarding school from closing down. Suitably cute, moderately funny, with both types of villains these sorts of movies usually have (comically wicked and just-needs-to-open-their-heart-again).
Chock-full of stereotypes, with a wealthy Spanish family contributing to the mayhem (in the form of their mischievous Madeline-aged boy). Happy ending where everything gets wrapped up in a neat bow, all of that.
It’s not some hidden classic that surpasses all expectations. But if you’re looking for above-average children’s fare, Madeline will serve you well.
