Boring. Surprisingly skewed so far up the male gaze’s ass that I wonder why it was marketed toward women. So boring. Felt like a male power fantasy drizzled over with bits of highly incompetent drama. Fucking boring. Half the actors are giving wildly bad performances, and a number of them can’t dance for shit which sabotages the group dance choreography. So fucking boring.
This is a guilt-free did-not-finish from me. Thought it was going to be high-spectacle fun but it comes off disaffected half the time, uninspired the other half, with a modest peppering of solo dance scenes where the cast members who can actually do so look pretty good. Overall: far, far, far too fucking boring for its premise.
