The Last Black Man in San Francisco: Identity in a Box

Two Black dudes squat in an old house in a gentrified neighborhood. Character posing is extraordinary, colors vibrant, frames often picturesque. The film is very funny, but constantly forcing observations of the slow, lifelike action and often disturbing conditions of the world it portrays. The performances lean toward the understated, and the cast performs flawlessly. There are segments that feel very Wes-Anderson-esque, if less aesthetically pronounced. Overall, an excellent dramedy.
